Australian media, especially ABC radio, have embraced my book. I have done multiple interviews with them, both in studio and ‘phoners’ all over the country. Special thanks to the very talented Margaret Throsby for her in depth one hour interview about my book Enemy Within and to Singo for helping me to get on to the Chris Smith Afternoon show last week.
Both Margaret and Chris were great hosts and really professional.
Still hopeful of gaining an Aussie tv spot. Move over PM Julia it’s my turn now
It looks possible that Actemra , the new RA drug, will soon be in Oz. Lots of the 400,000 Australians with RA are still doing it tough.
They need greater access to these medications without having to get worse before they get better.
Support Group friends the next meeting looks like it will be a book launch event on July 21 on the upper east side. Please email me directly.
On a final note, Dr. Maggie Smith’s sudden and tragic passing this week is an immeasurable loss for the arthritis community. My prayers are with her family. Thank you Maggie for your decades of hard work for people like me.

Hi Friends,
Thank you for all the positive feedback about my book. I am feeling it is helping so many people who have their own enemy within regardless of what it is.
I’ve done about 20 interviews and am just hoping for more before I head back to NY for the official launch there.
More than thus though I want to say thank you for your support.
Support group friends I’ll be in touch directly as we may have a change of venue in July.

Enemy Within by Karen Ager Book Launch

Enemy Within by Karen Ager (me) was launched at Caffe Cielo in New York City. We were looked after by owner Joe. The book sold well and has had great reviews this week. Readers are saying it’s a page turner, gay friends are saying they could relate because of the same burden of secrecy they feel before they come out and brothers are saying it’s made me think of their relationship with their sister. And there is so much more interwoven in the book. So please enjoy and then tell ten friends.

Enemy Within by Karen Ager is becoming real. I did one live radio interview today and one which was taped for NPR and is scheduled to air in AL,GA,FL in July. Gotta get this book out there because I know it will empower so many people to ‘just keep going.’!

Hi,
Pre order my book, Enemy Within, on Amazon. It’s all about resilience, strength, hope and relationships.
Apart from the increase in copay from $20 to $50 I am good. Has this happened to anyone else? When you have a few monthly prescriptions to fill this soon adds up.

My Memoir – Enemy Within

Have you ever written a book? I am trying to get across the line with the final edits. The process while fabulous has been a somewhat lonely one and I can’t wait to get back into the moment with the ones I love the most. My memoir titled ‘Enemy Within’ will be out in May 2010 and is a story that tells of love lost and found, hope, happiness and acceptance. Thanks to my sister in law Charlotte who was a calming influence on me recently as I felt slightly overwhelmed with deadlines. For those of you with RA I realized I had to have a strong title. I have learned much from this disease over the years but there are times in my (now content) life when I have felt that the burden of this chronic disease was like having an ‘Enemy Within’. I am excited for the release. Let the count down begin!
