Karen, I appreciated your story in the Jan/Feb 2001 issue of "Arthritis Today". I have a question as to the three biologics you have used. About 11 years ago I started getting severe joint and muscle pains and suffered until my wife demanded that I see a reumatologist. I was told that I had RA and was put on prednisone and methotrexate. they didn't help much. I was then put on a trial study of ENBREL and methotrexate and "wow" what a difference that made in just 2 weeks. I went from wondering if I could get through 9 holes of golf to walking 18. Although the shots are extremely expensive (even with Medicare part D) my wife says we will mortgage the house to keep me in a stable condition. The question is whether ENBREL will continue to give me relief. I'm 68.

Thanks for sharing your story.
